Champagne’s Song Bird (SOLD)

Sire: Champagne Fizz (by Supreme Sultan)

Dam: Shamrock’s China Moon (by S.S. Chinese Firedrill by Sultan’s Sultana)

Having shown on the California circuit, Champagne’s Song Bird is now an admirable brood mare. One of Danny Musselman’s favorites, she came to us just before foaling a filly by Ritz Kracker. Now, I had not heard of this stallion before, but several recent calls tell me that he must have a certain something. Sunset Aria is the result of that union. Song Bird had a foal to Only Man In Town in 2007, Only Champagne. She has just had a filly foal by Only Man In Town. Song Bird is available for $8,500.

(Ritz Cracker X Champagne’s Song Bird)

This is another high headed prospect with motion a-plenty. Her dam is by Champagne Fizz and so you know she has a big motor! Sunset Aria is offered at $7,500.

My Genius’ Jenny Wade (SOLD)

Sire: Desert’s Supreme Fortune (by Supreme Sultan)

Dam: Ring of Attention (by Center Ring)

This handsome, well sized mare "came my way" – I loved the way she moved and her attitude. So she is out in the brood mare band, now in foal to Catalyst for a 2008 foal who will be eligible for the lucrative Ohio Limited Breeder's Futurity. Her 2007 foal, Make My Fortune, (by wcBasquiat),  is a real beauty.

Diamond Deluxe  SOLD Click here to watch Diamond Deluxe on our video page.

Sire: Harrodsburg (by CH Yorktown)

Dam: Dusty Diamonds (by Blythe Spirit)

Who could resist this great moving mare? In fact I was recently scolded by a knowledgeable visitor to "put this mare back to work"! It is tempting once you have seen her move across the field. But us breeders are hopeless romantics and think of the foal yet to be conceived – let alone born. She had a 2007 filly foal by Nureyev, Dancing With Diamonds, and is currently in foal to The Cheetah for 2008. This baby is eligible for the lucrative Ohio Limited Breeder's Futurity.

Make My Fortune (SOLD)
(WC Basquiat X My Genius' Jenny Wade)

As you would expect, this is a beautiful filly by Basquiat and out of a talented mare.

Let's Just Dream (SOLD)
(Highpoint's Dream of Genius X Let's Just Talk)

We were very sad to lose the dam of this pretty high headed filly to an accident this year. Her latest offspring, however, is showing a lot of promise and has tons of presence!

The People's Princess (SOLD)
(Basquiat X Transatlantic Flight)

This grey filly was high in the ribbons as a weanling in the Buckeye Futurity and is every bit a princess! She holds her head high and has a wonderful attitude. This is a spectacular two year old  iron grey filly, who like her dam will get more grey as the years pass. Alas! her dam can no longer produce, so she is the last of this line. Princess is well under saddle and loves her work. With her long neck, small ears and expression, she will make a wonderful pleasure or western horse. She has no vices and is an easy keeper.

Kalarama's Flo Jo    SOLD    (See Video)
(Rare Treasure x Lakeview's Burnt Umber)

The very beautiful five year old mare is a dream horse for an amateur lady rider or child. She is well mannered, easy to keep and a joy to own. Out of Lakeview's Burnt Umber (Rare Treasure) and by Harlem Superior she will also be a wonderful brood mare in the future for someone. At the most recent Tattersalls, a brood mare out of Lakeview's Burnt Umber X Harlem Globetrotter sold for over $20,000. Flo Jo earned several blue ribbons this year in large show pleasure classes on the competitive Ohio circuit. She is consistent and willing and has no bad habits.

Miss Albany Sold to Sue and Gary Cook

The Cheetah X Incredible Folly

Out of the same dam as WC Radiante and by the popular stud, The Cheetah,  this striking bay filly looks as if she will fill the shoes of her big sister! She is larger in size and very powerful and has great hock action. We are fortunate indeed to have acquired this beautiful half sister to our star performer. There is an interesting story here: I was watching between 40 and 50 weanlings in the ring in the Kentucky Futurity. I found I could not take my eyes of this particular weanling who was being shown by Jan Lukens. To my amazement, when I looked in the program, I saw she was out of the same dam as Radiante. So I simply “had to have her.” Thank you Jan!

Cup O' Joe Sold to Rachel and Maeve Tibbetts (See Video)

Basquiat X My Cup of Tea

Cup O' Joe is stunning - with his flaxen mane and tail. 2005 Reserve Weanling Stallion, Ohio Futurity. Reserve Champion, Ohio Futurity. 2006 Reserve Yearling, Buckeye Futurity. Reserve Champion, Ohio Futurity. This standout colt is now under saddle and being prepared for the 2007 show season.

My Dear Lily Sold to Sue and Gary Cook

(Basquiat X My Dear Frances)

This exquisite filly is chestnut and a full sister to Lily Tu and Lilly the Filly. She looks just like them and holds the same promise. She was the 2006 Champion Weanling, Buckeye Futurity and the Champion Weanling, Ohio Futurity and 1st Place Ohio Weanling Fillies.

My Dear Frances Sold to Tommy Lee

Sire: Money Market (by Longview’s Supreme)

Dam: Starheart’s Countess (by Starheart Peavine)

We were fortunate to be able to acquire this dam of WC Lilly the Filly, from Linda Fischer Wheeler in foal to Fox Creek. Note: Wing Commander on dam’s side. We now have Sunset Fox in training now as a three year old and showing promise. In 2005, she produced a star for us that we called Lily Tu. Lily Tu came sixth in the highly competitive All American Cup.

My dear Frances’ 2006 foal to Basquiat is another filly called My Dear Lily. For additional My Dear Lily pix, click here or here or here.  It just seemed to make sense to ‘do it again"! Note: Six brood mare hall of fame mares in her pedigree! She is now has a colt by Looking for Roses called Looking For You.

I’m So Special Sold to James Donahue and Kathy Dougherty

Sire: Tallwood American Image (by American Spirit)

Dam: I’m a Cover Girl (by Albelarm Supremacy)

Well events conspired against (or for me) and I decided to bring Tatum back to Sunset Farm. Having sold her dam and having sold her 2004 filly to Don Harris, it seemed to make sense. In addition, I lost our beloved Killer (Tallwood American Image) and he had been responsible for producing our incredible brood mares.

Lily Tu Sold to Sue and Gary Cook

Basquiat X My Dear Francis

Lily Tu is a classy filly who won the 2005 Ohio Futurity as a weanling. She was also 6th in the Amateur Kentucky Futurity and 10th in the highly competitive All American Cup. 2006 Ohio Futurity Champion, Fourth in 2006 Kentucky Amateur Futurity. Her full sister, Lilly the Filly was Reserve Champion Junior 5-Gaited Mare at Lexington Junior League. She was shown by Virgil Helm. Lily Tu is now under saddle and being prepared for the '07 show season.

Radiante Sold to Elmo Greer
Congratulations to Elmo Greer on the purchase of this lovely World's Champion! Click here to visit our "Headliner" page representing Radiante while she was under the Sunset Farm banner.

Radiant Sea Sold to Jackie Roberts (Shadow Rise Farm)

Sire: Radiant Sultan (by Supreme Sultan)

Dam: Inuendo (by Captain Conestoga)

Classy and dignified! This mare was bred by Jan Lukens and is out of Inuendo (full sister to Java Sea) and by Radiant Sultan. With the passing of Radiant Sultan and having owned Radiante and Miss Olivia, I was anxious to find a Radiant Sultan broodmare. This mare’s bottom-line boasts Stonewall’s Main Event. She is a big mare with a beautiful expression and long refined neck. She is in foal to Rifles and Roses for an ’07 baby. With six brood mare hall of fame mares in her four generation pedigree, she should produce some good ones.

My Lucky Song and Filly Foal Sold to Jackie Roberts (Shadow Rise Farm)

Sire: For What It's Worth

Dam: Song Worthy

This sporty mare in foal to Basquiat, has a starchy filly foal by her side, by Harlem's Hot Town.

The Debonair Gentleman Sold to Pam and Vernon Atkison of South Carolina

Catalyst X I’m a Hustler

This four-year old Walk-Trot prospect looks as if he will be a top performance horse. By Catalyst, he has that flaxen mane and tail that is such a stand out in the show ring. He is eligible for the three year old Kentucky Futurity. He is now broke to ride and is ready for his new owner to take to the “big time.” This colt is VERY fancy.

Toxic Material Sold to Johnna Noble-Filomena

Penny’s Denmark Ace X Highpoint’s Starlet

This dark bay colt is started in long-lines and looks as if he will be a walk-trot prospect. He is very compact and hinges well. He has plenty of motion and will make a great prospect. He really thinks well, wants to please and is kind.

Sunset Fox Sold to Tommy Clouse, of Richmond, Ky.

Fox Creek X My Dear Frances

This well bred gelding is going to be a big colt. His dam is the dam of WC Lilly the Filly and Lily Tu, who, as a weanling, won 10th place in the All American Cup and 6th in the Amateur KY Futurity. WC Lilly the Filly was also Reserve in the four year old mare 5 gaited class at Lexington Junior League. Don Reinhart has just started gaiting this colt. He is taking to it easily and well.

La Renaissance Sold to Don and Judy Harris

Belle Reve’s Renaissance Man X I’m So Special

This is an exciting filly, started late but she is now under saddle. She will take your breath away with her presence and performance. Don Harris wants to gait this one!! In fact, he has already started. She also loves to work and never drops an ear. What a prospect!

Musical Heir Sold to Kay Marschel

Sire: Supreme Heir (by Supreme Sultan)

Dam: Choral (by Foxfire’s Prophet)

Now you talk about attitude! What a find! With the passing of Supreme Heir, I also wanted to add a Supreme Heir mare to our band. This is a "typical" Supreme Heir progeny. She has small alert ears, a slightly dish face and that large white blaze that is so familiar to us all. Her bottom-line is a "dream", in that she is out of Finally in Tune whose dam is Choral by Ch Foxfire’s Prophet. It does not hurt to have Attache as the sire of her sire, Finally Attached. This mare has EIGHT brood mare hall of fame mares in her four generation pedigree!! She is in foal to Catalyst for 2007.

Sun in My Heart Sold to Jim Donahue and Kathy Dougherty

Sire: Tallwood American Image (by American Spirit)

Dam: Saucy’s Hot Tamale (by I’m a Wizard)

Sun in My Heart has wonderful expression and those small ears that are close together that were inherited form Tallwood American Image. She had a spectacular colt in 2004 by Oceanfront – who, went all the way to Lousville and got so excited about the whole deal that he skinned his knee and, much to our disappointment, could not be shown. I already know this is a show horse – he just has that way of looking at you! This mare was bred to Oscar de la Renta for a 2005 foal and the result is a dark bay colt – Heart for Rent.

Vanity’s National Anthem Sold to Jim Donahue and Kathy Dougherty

Sire: Vanity’s Natural High (by Pinetree’s Bourbon Vanity)

Dam: Restless Night (by Night Streaker)

Out of Restless Night, her second dam Daughter’s Daughter is by Buck and Wing. This very pretty mare was acquired from Jeff Bolte and is dam of the Kentucky State Fair Park Horse 4th place Buckeye’s Fancy Pants (now Hot Tin Sundae). Her 2004 foal by Buckeye’s Hot Spot is a black filly. This mare only has one eye due to an injury in her youth. She is kind and sweet and trusting.

Two Times Wonderful Sold to the Stachowski's

Sire: Good Timen’ Man (by Catalyst)

Dam: You Look Radiant (by Radiant Sultan)

This mare was acquired, quite shamelessly to introduce some of Judith Werner’s blood lines into the Sunset Farm breeding program. Again, I was after that bottom-line and with a second dam as Sultan’s Dianna – it seemed like an easy decision!  I have always been and admirer of Judith’s and since she was in foal to Designed – all the better. The 2005 colt, Twice Designed looks very promising. He was not shown this year. TTW is in foal for 2007 to Nureyev.

Roses and Romance Sold to Star and Terry Thompson

Rifles and Roses X I’m a Cover Girl

This is a refined, elegant, and showy colt. He is under saddle and showing a lot of promise. He is all show horse with a beautiful eye and such a sweet disposition. We believe that he will make a high class pleasure horse.

Basquietta Sold to Wesley Evans

Basquiat X Sand Rose Town

Basquietta is very beautiful. She has a flaxen mane and tail and was Reserve Champion in the 2005 Bluegrass Futurity. She was also 3rd in the 2004 Am. Kentucky Futurity as a weanling in a LARGE class of weanlings. Now being driven, she looks as if she would be quite competitive in the two year old fine harness. She is eligible for the Kentucky Futurity, Open and Amateur.

Street Folly Sold to Wyatt DeHart

42nd Street X Incredible Folly

"Folly" is a large, talented, long necked colt bay gelding who can really wave his legs. He is growing fast, so we are taking him very slowly. He is broke to drive and is under saddle. He is looking as if he will be a top prospect. It does not hurt him to be out of the same dam as WC Radiante.

I'm Houston Sold to Tina Fisher

Basquiat X I'm So Special

This is a very, very nice dark chestnut colt with a flaxen mane and tail and a neck that will not quit!  Of special note – he is out of the mare that produced the filly La Renaissance that was purchased by Don and Judy Harris.

Next Stop Broadway Sold to Lydia Uhlyarik

Oceanfront X Sun in My Heart

This is one showy yearling. He is full of “vim and vinegar” and wants to show. He is "all business", and learning his lessons well, and would make a nice prospect for an amateur.

Paradise Punch Sold to Trent Capps

El Dorado's Stonewall Jackson X Hurry Home Honey

By an upcoming stallion and son of Catalyst and out of a Periaptor daughter, this is a stretchy bay colt of beautiful coloring who came from the breeding program of Paradise Farms.

A rare find! A black filly! This is a very nice filly who is full sister to Tin Roof Sundae (formerly Buckeye’s Fancy Pants) who placed Third in the three gaited Park Class at the Kentucky State Fair and Lexington Junior League.

Heart for Rent Sold to Jim Wray
